Artist's Statement

When I was fourteen, I realized my vision was double. I don’t know why or how this came about, but my strange deficiency is an extremely interesting way of seeing the world around me. For this reason, I am interested in using my double vision as a point of departure for manipulating images. 

 

​As my work develops, I find myself more interested in the way the human body is distorted through various cultures. Specifically, I find myself interested in the objectification of the female form, immigration, and sensory perception.
